My Body Is My Oracle

How to Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom for Healing, Clarity, and Spiritual Growth in Midlife

For most of my life, I trusted experts before I trusted myself.

Doctors. Teachers. Books. Protocols.
Even spiritual authorities.

And I’m grateful for all of them.

But something has shifted in me over the past few weeks.

I’ve been deeply attuned to my body — my digestion, my sleep, my energy, my breath, my blood pressure, my nervous system. Not in a frantic way. Not in a hypochondriac way.

In a listening way.

And what I’m realizing is this:

My body is not a problem to solve.
It is an oracle to consult.

An oracle doesn’t shout.
It whispers.

Bloating.
Ease.
Restlessness.
Deep sleep.
Warmth.
Tension.
Clarity.

These are not inconveniences.
They are messages.

For years, I overrode signals.
Ate what was “healthy” even when it didn’t sit well.
Pushed through fatigue.
Dismissed subtle stress responses.
Chased the next plan.

Now I pause.

If my belly tightens, I ask why.
If my sleep improves, I notice what supported it.
If my energy rises, I track what nourished me.

This isn’t control.
It’s relationship.

Spiritual maturity, for me, now looks like embodiment.

It looks like:
• Adjusting my food because my body asked
• Changing my exercise rhythm because my nervous system needed it
• Tapping at night to support vagal tone
• Legs up the wall before bed
• Breathing instead of reacting

It looks like honoring signals instead of arguing with them.

There is something profoundly humbling about aging.

The body speaks more clearly.
You can’t override it the way you once did.

And instead of resenting that… I’m revering it.

When I say “my body is my oracle,” I mean:

It tells me when I am aligned.
It tells me when I am pushing.
It tells me when I am anxious.
It tells me when I am at peace.

It tells the truth faster than my mind ever will.

And the deeper truth?

The more I listen to my body,
the less I need to prove anything.

Because when I feel steady, rested, clear —
I am already enough.

This season of my life isn’t about optimizing.

It’s about attuning.

Not biohacking.

Belonging — to myself.

And that feels like real wisdom.
